Clubs in Crisis: Why community community clubs are struggling, and nobody is to blame. The data in the report has been sourced from responses to CLUBMAP’s Club Health Check survey. The responses of 500 clubs were chosen at random from thousands in the CLUBMAP database to yield a statistically valid snapshot of the sector.

Background to the report
The report presents a snapshot of community clubs across sports and activities in all Australian states and territories. It is based on self-reported assessments of club operations, governance, finances, and participation. It aims to quantify the state of the sector, highlight patterns, and guide decision-making for governments, peak bodies, and community stakeholders.
The data collected shows that a significant portion of the sector is battling to survive. Among a range of alarming results, survey responses point to declining volunteer commitment, increasing volunteer burnout, faltering fundraising and pressure on participation.
